Der Return on Investment (ROI) ist eine der grundlegendsten Kennzahlen zur Bewertung der Profitabilität einer Investition. Er drückt aus, wie viel Gewinn pro eingesetztem Euro erzielt wurde. Ein ROI von 50 % bedeutet: Aus 100 € wurden 150 € — oder 50 Cent Gewinn pro investiertem Euro.
ROI vs. CAGR — der Unterschied
Der ROI gibt den Gesamtertrag über die gesamte Haltedauer an. Für Vergleiche zwischen Investitionen mit unterschiedlicher Laufzeit eignet sich der CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) besser — er normiert den Ertrag auf eine einheitliche Jahresrendite.
